Mountain Home has been described by many as one of the most beautiful areas in the Ozarks- not just because of the lakes and rivers, but the beautiful views and serene landscape as well. Called the Gateway to the Ozarks, the area is not the easiest to access. But most people find that an asset. They like the small town atmosphere with friendly people.

About one half of the population of the area is retired and have moved here from all over the country. The crime rate is negligible. The housing is inexpensive compared to most of the country. The real estate taxes are incredibly low. Baxter Regional Medical Center is a top notch facility and there is no shortage of specialist in the directory of physicians.
